More to the story

After Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman, he continued to teach and heal. People’s responses were far from indifferent!

The Samaritans from the woman’s town were so fascinated by Jesus that they urged him to stay with them for a couple of days, after which they concluded that ‘this man really is the Saviour of the world’ (4:42).

But the religious leaders ‘tried all the more to kill him’ (KILL HIM!) because they’d heard Jesus’ claims to be ‘equal with God’ (5:18).

In chapter 6 we read about another sign that Jesus performed. As it’s a sign, we’re not looking for a moral lesson but for what it points to about who Jesus was and what he was like. In this sign we move from ‘living water’ to life-giving bread… let your imagination feast on the imagery!

Have a read of John 6:1-14 and then consider these questions:

Jot down observations/questions you have about these verses that you’d like to discuss.
