In the first session of the series, we will explore the difficulty of embracing a new stage, the pain of letting go of the past and navigating change successfully with your faith. Flourishing in life, means not shying away from a new challenge or a new chapter when God is opening doors for you and calling you into it. But that’s easier said than done. We often feel comfortable staying exactly where we are – even if it’s not the ideal set-up.
Open in prayer inviting God to show you ways in which you can move into a new season in your life. Then read the following Bible passages together.

There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind. – C. S. Lewis
I know that everyone has a past. I also know that it’s totally normal to reflect on your past. When I start to feel down about things that happened long ago, I find it’s important to remember that whatever is in the future, it will be better and greater than before. In my life, I trust that what God has in store for me is what is right, and I won’t regret it!There is more to me than yesterday.
Living in the present tense is such a challenge, but it’s important to keep in mind that focusing on what’s been won’t change anything in your future. You’re better off acknowledging the past for what it was, learning lessons from it and moving on with your head held high. For me, it’s the only way to break free from regrets.I won’t let fear of the future stop me from moving forwards.
We never know what’s in the future, but we can’t let that stop us from moving forwards. Sometimes all you can see is the next right step and choosing to move on to it feels like jumping into the unknown. For me, I call on my faith to help me make that move. Ultimately, I can’t control the future, but it doesn’t stop me from wanting to move forwards into it.I will remember who I am and why I’m here. I’m never given anything in this world that I can’t handle.
My faith is a large source of strength when it comes to tackling difficulties. When I’m up against a big trial, I believe that God doesn’t allow me to go through anything that I can’t withstand. It means that, even if it doesn’t feel like it, I know I have the tools available to me to navigate the situation. Where do you draw your strength from in times of trouble? There is a bigger plan for me than I have for myself.
I know this might sound a bit as though I’m palming off the important things, but I love the idea that I can shed responsibility for my direction in life and leave it to God! I trust that God’s plan for me is greater than anything I could dream up myself, so why not let him take the reins?!
As you go about this week, observe yourself and see if there are places you’re shying away from taking a step forward. When something feels too daunting or you feel afraid, call on God to give you the strength to embrace the fresh opportunity.
Close with a time of prayer, lifting up any new beginnings in your lives to God and praying that through his strength, you will be able to acknowledge but move on from the past.
