Talking to Children About Race
Talking to Children About Race
This five session series is designed for parents to honestly and openly explore some of the issues raised in ‘Talking to Children About Race.’
1
This first session sets the scene for the series and explores some of the issues raised in chapter one; exploring our own prejudices.
2
This second session explores how we, as parents, can take those first steps to talking to our children about race and racism.
3
This session explores how things have changed; the language we use, the understanding we have, the approach we take to issues around race and racism and how a willingness to grow and mature is right and important.
4
This session is designed to explore what we mean by ‘white privilege’ and address the injustice that this causes.
5
This session is designed to discuss what we mean by allyship and anti-racism and how we can teach these to our children in a meaningful way.
