Home Groups. Cell Groups. Small Groups. Connect Groups. House Groups – all names that you may have heard before and which you can use fairly interchangeably. But, whatever you call it, these groups are united by a common idea: A smaller setting provides a space for deep community to form and for exploration of teaching in a way that is not possible in a Sunday service. A home group, then, is a group choosing to push into this idea, intentionally pushing deep into community and teaching together.

Practically, this means a small group of church members meeting regularly to share life and grow in faith together. There is no typical set of activities in a home group but the following are commonplace:

In many ways it doesn’t matter what a group does exactly. What matters is that the group’s activities centre around the discipleship of the group’s members. This is the key: growing in love for God and for one another.
